Privacy policy
How we handle your information.
Last updated: October 27, 2026
Hummingbird Nest Ranch ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through hummingbirdnestranch.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you send an inquiry, we collect what you enter in the form: your name, email address, phone number, the type of event, stay or production, your preferred dates, guest count, budget range, the settings you are interested in, how you heard about us, and any message you write. If you attach a file, such as a production lookbook, we receive that file too.
When you take our venue quiz and ask for your results by email, we collect your email address, your answers, and the setting they point to. When you sign up for news from the estate, we collect your email address. When you send an inquiry, you can choose to join our email list by ticking the box on the form; it is never ticked for you. Every email we send includes a link to unsubscribe.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours collects some information automatically when you visit: the pages you view, the website or advertisement that brought you here, your general location (city or region), your device and browser type, and your IP address. We use cookies and similar technologies for this, described under "Cookies and your choices" below. Our website also remembers, in your browser and for up to 90 days, the source that first brought you to us, so that your inquiry can tell us how you found the ranch.
How we use your information
- To reply to your inquiry and to plan your event, stay or production with you.
- To send you what you asked for: your quiz results, a reply to your inquiry, and occasional emails about the ranch, such as celebrations we have hosted, the settings through the seasons, and what is new on the estate. You can stop these at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To understand how visitors use our website and to improve it.
- To measure our advertising, so we know which advertisements and websites bring guests to us, and to show our advertising to people who have visited our website.
- To keep our website secure and to prevent spam and misuse.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with the service providers that help us run our business, each of which may use it only to provide its service to us:
- HoneyBook, the client management system where our team handles inquiries, proposals and bookings.
- Mailchimp, which sends our emails, delivers quiz results, and keeps our email list.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager), to understand how our website is used.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through the Meta pixel and the Conversions API, to measure and improve our advertising. Any contact details used for this are hashed before they are sent.
- CookieYes, which records your cookie choices.
- Nexcess, which hosts our website, and Cloudflare, which protects it and speeds it up.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our property, and the safety of our guests and staff.
Cookies and your choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline cookies that are not strictly necessary. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. If you decline, our analytics and advertising tools do not set cookies or collect your information, and the Meta pixel does not run. Cookies needed for the website to work, such as the one that remembers your cookie choice, are always on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Our advertising measurement counts as "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising under California law. To opt out, use the "Cookie settings" link on any page and turn off advertising cookies, or contact us below. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser, which we treat as a request to opt out.
Your rights, including California residents
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for targeted advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry records for up to three years after our last contact with you, unless the law requires us to keep them longer or you ask us to delete them sooner. If you book an event, stay or production with us, the records of that booking are kept as our business and legal obligations require. Your email subscription is kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics are kept in summarized form.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to the people who need it, and the protections provided by our hosting and security providers. No website can be completely secure, so please do not send payment details or other sensitive information through the inquiry form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed, and the current version is always at hummingbirdnestranch.com/privacy/.
