Where is Hummingbird Nest Ranch, and how large is the property?
Hummingbird Nest Ranch is a private 126-acre estate in Simi Valley, California. The property offers a collection of distinct event settings, from grand architecture and sweeping lawns to intimate gardens, vineyard views, and indoor-outdoor spaces, allowing each gathering to take on a character of its own.
Do you require certain vendors?
Catering, bar service, and event rentals are arranged through our curated exclusive vendor partners. Outside catering, bar, or rental companies may be considered with prior approval and the applicable buyout fee. Florists and other event professionals are entirely your choice, provided they meet Hummingbird Nest Ranch’s licensing and insurance requirements. Security and valet are provided through our required partners.
Is a coordinator or planner required?
Yes. Every event is required to have a professional coordinator engaged at least three months beforehand and present on site from start to finish on the day. A full-service planner is highly recommended, but not required. The planner must be a hired professional and may not also be a guest or member of the wedding party.
Can we stay on the property?
Yes. The estate offers 15 on-site accommodations, including Casitas, Townhomes, and a Cottage, allowing guests to stay on property. Accommodations are reserved separately, and larger room blocks can be coordinated through our team. Availability is limited, so we recommend reserving early.
How late can our event continue?
Music and event end times vary by day of the week and setting. On Fridays and Saturdays, most celebrations may continue until 2:00 AM, while events at The Stables may continue until 4:00 AM. Sunday through Thursday, music concludes at midnight. After Hours at The Stables may also be added for those who would like to continue the celebration later.
Do you host more than one event per day?
Yes. With multiple distinct venues across 126 acres, Hummingbird Nest Ranch may host more than one celebration on the same day. Each setting is thoughtfully separated throughout the estate, allowing events to maintain their own sense of privacy.
What happens in case of inclement weather?
Weather contingencies vary by setting. Events at The Carriage House or The Lake Lawn receive first priority to relocate to The Stables, subject to availability. For The Villa, Grand Prix, and other outdoor settings, clients coordinate a tented weather plan with their planner and event rental company.
Can we use more than one setting for our event?
Yes. Several settings at Hummingbird Nest Ranch may be reserved together, allowing different parts of your event to unfold across the estate. Popular pairings include The Villa with Grand Prix and The Carriage House with The Stables or The Lake Lawn. Our team can help you explore which combination best suits your guest count and plans.
